We have returned from our New Mexico trip- it was fantastically inspiring!
The landscapes were truly spectacular as you can see here from some of the photos we took.
We are well rested, our minds and hearts brimming over with images that we hope will lead us towards an exciting season of art making!
Tomorrow, we begin a 5 week stint of teaching art to children on a daily basis. This should give our new ideas enough time to simmer until boiling before we take the month of August to create our own art in the studio!
New Mexico has not only gifted us ideas, but renewed vision!
It is a cliche that "a change of scenery" revitalizes one~ yet after our visit to New Mexico, I have been reminded of how true this is!
If you are unable to take a vacation right now, there are many things you can do to help bring rejuvenation to your life even while at work:
I think this especially holds true when we are outdoors and in nature. Somehow something as simple as going for a walk can bring one a fresh perspective.
*Eat lunch outside (I see SO many people eat at their computers at work!)
*Buy a potted flower for your desk.
*Throw open the windows in lieu of AC whenever possible. Open the blinds/curtains-let the sun in!
*Light a candle at your desk (there are wonderful Himalayan salt candles which release healthy negative ions that improve the quality of the air while glowing beautifully.)
*Go for a walk around your neighborhood each day at dusk.
* :) ~have ART in your work space!
I for one, plan to spend much more time blogging while sitting on my porch (rather than inside) this summer-- mosquitoes beware: I am well prepared with plenty of citronella candles!
