..commfy in the studio

A few weeks ago, I decided to make our studio space more comfortable.
Although we have a great space- and in the winter we enjoy the wood stove, in summer our little pool...still..late nights to 3am often prove tiring when one is sitting on stiff wooden chairs (!)

So, we turned to Craigslist!
Within three days time we had scored an awesome *free* comfortable old sofa.
Well worn, yet well made by a family in Richmond Virginia. It is not often that you find those type of labels/construction any longer-and we both appreciate handmade vs. factory manufactured.
We were thrilled.
We slid the sofa (which was waiting for us curbside!)-into the back of our Honda CRV-and with the door open...we drove back home...ever so slowly and praying no police would spot us-because I don't know-but driving with the door open like and a sofa sticking half way out-did not seem quite 'acceptable'. Nevertheless, not only did we get back to the studio without incident, we did so after driving past two police cars on our way home.

Once we had the sofa here, we cleaned it and brought it into the studio and were simply amaazed at how this one "comfortable" addition changed the whole space!
WoW!

We are so excited and have found ourselves in the studio much more often.
At Goodwill (one of my favorite places to shop-as you get 'stuff'- and at the same time you are giving back to your community!)- I found a $20- coffee table. Another well loved piece, perfect for our new space.

We stored away extra work tables we had... and decided to visit our local "HomeGoods" store for two 'club chairs'. We think it will be perfect for all those of you who want to come visit our studio and share a cup of coffee.. a glass of wine!

Thus far we have only found one perfect club chair for our space- but we hope to find it's sister soon!

Here is a photo of Sergio working on a Hobby Horse he is "refinishing"- let us know if you are interested. It is a jewel of an antique...and Sergio is giving him life again!
