A funny little story
I have been doing Spring cleaning as I gather things to pack for our upcoming trip to Chile, where it will be winter time. Being this busy has found me quite often still in my pj's late into the day.Yesterday, was one of these days.
I was busy cleaning out the cabinet under the kitchen sink (ok..what that has to do with packing for our trip has to do with a bar of soap that was under there...). As I was working, I heard noise in our backyard and peeked out to see two deer eating the greens in our little garden box.
They were so close and standing right by the studio, so I grabbed my camera and basically dragged myself on my stomach to get closer. It was wet, and my pj's were soaked but I caught these pretty shots with my little camera.
I went back indoors, got out of my wet pjs and got dressed. Minutes later I dropped two champagne glasses on my foot (cleaning again) and received a deep small cut. Just as I was cleaning up, two young students arrived early to the studio for a class. I tossed down the keys and showed off my bloody foot asking them to give me time to clean up.
Between the deer and blood, I had a ready story to tell our studio students during 'free draw time" which is when we lead them to have some quiet/chill out time to focus and get ready for the project of the day.
So, I started telling them the story I just wrote above.... they all listened intently...
There was a moment of quiet after I finished my story and then one little girl raised her hand with much, much concern... and she asked:
"...but, miss Claudia, we have been in school for 6 hours and if this happened just before we got here... you were in your pj's all day?!
Hahahaha...... so funny that out of all of the details in the story..this is what most surprised her! I was "busted"!! :)Children are priceless... and they do say the damnedest things.... we know whose parents sleep in the nude, which parents have been caught picking their nose... etc. They are so funny and endearing and much smarter than most adults give them credit for!
We love working with them and I am thinking of beginning some online classes for children... any ideas are welcome!
Much love & light to you and yours!
Claudia
