Claudia, you don't have to publish this... its just a suggestion, but i think if you stained some of your frames a darker color, instead of using the raw pine, it will help this piece look a bit more finished, and the shrine as a whole will be more cohesive.

Carlos, thanks for the comment--actually we do plan to stain the frame, but decided not to do it as we wanted it to be the same as the steps-which we don't plan to stain... we wanted this altar to be utilized in the future--so the painting will stand on it's own (with stained frame) ..and the stand sans stain-to better match our studio trim-and we will use it to place our mini paintings and prints on it. We are slowly trying to transform our studio into more of a gallery/studio space, and less than a studio/teaching space... we look forward to you visiting us in december!
